Kayak Fish Finder track install kit from Fish Finder Mounts .com now released!
Great News! The track install upgrade kit for the kayak fish finder mounting kit from Fish Finder Mounts .com is now released. Many commercial fishing kayaks such as those that come from Wilderness Systems come with these kayak mounting track channel systems pre-installed on them straight from the manufacturer's factory nowadays. These track systems offer a high level of flexibility when it comes to installing various fishing accessories at will. A fishfinder can be the most difficult of these accessories to install on any boat - much less a kayak.
The crew at Fish Finder Mounts .com have done it again, and made installing a depth sounder onto you favorite kayak a breeze. The track and t-bolt upgrade kit can be purchased separately from their website Fish Finder Mounts .com here:

FishFinder Mount for Sea Eagle 285 & other similar inflatable boats
Greetings friends, we have some new photos our our glue-on fish finder boat mount which was recently installed onto one of our customers Sea Eagle 285 inflatable boat. This glue on fishfinder mounting system was designed for boats such as the Sea Eagle 285. Don't let the title "Glue-On" deceive you however, because the rest of the fish finder mounting kit is still fully and easily removable.
Once the Scotty glue on mounting pads (as seen here: http://www.scotty.com/fishing-gear-equipment/rod-holders/glue-onmount.htm ) have been situated and glued on to the boat pontoon bladder(s), the mounting components are easily installed and removed as desired - within a mere couple of minutes. The whole kit can be purchased here:
The transducer mount can also be purchased separately here:
We understand this kit takes a bit of work to complete an initial install, but once this has been done, we believe this mounting kit is the ultimate fishfinder mounting solution for inflatable boats - without a traditional fixed transom. If you have a spot to wrap a strap style transducer mount around a bladder, then you may consider this transducer mounting solution here: http://www.fishfindermounts.com/#!product/prd1/2792762971/float-tube-transducer-mount-w-86%22-strap
but if not, then this glue on transducer mounting bracket as aforementioned is your best bet in our opinion.
Here's a bunch of photos showing the installation of the Glue-On FishFinder mounting kit only from Fish Finder Mounts .com - enjoy:

New Fish-Finder Track Mount Option for Kayak from Fish Finder Mounts .com
Feb 18, 2015
Greetings friends. We're sorry for being away so long. We've been extraordinarily busy, but will try to get back on track with our blog here.
Wanted to provide a bit of news on what we are doing for our kayaking friends and fellow enthusiasts. We've decided to provide a new option for mounting our universal battery boxes. Now we envision this mainly for kayaks, but we see no reason why Aluminum boat owners couldn't employ the same strategy; that being using t-track channel to easily attach equipment to - such as fishfinders right!
Anyhow, just going to start off here with baby steps and be brief. Here's some great photos that will provide a good idea on what you will be able to purchase off our web store at www.fishfindermounts.com for setting up your kayak with fish finder mounting options

Another Great Fish Finder Mount Review
Greetings fishing friends, just a quick blog entry to share a customer review:
Here's what our good friend Ron says about our Magnetic Fishfinder boat mount kit:
- Subject : Satisfaction with my 2.9ah Universal Mounting System
- Message : I was able to put my mount on my 14' john boat in about 2 minutes. It's so easy. I was finding fish in about 55' of water. I was using a 143 Humminbird locator and was pleased with the results that day. I would recommend this mounting system to any fisherman, bar none. It's the best on the market. The staff has been very helpful and courteous. Thanks! P.S.-Get the heavyduty magnets and that will give you peace of mind in knowing that your transducer will stay where you put it.

Porta Bote Fish Finder Installation and MountSept 21, 2014
Greetings to all our Fishing Friends once again,
We hope you've had a good fishing season thus far. We wanted to reach out to all the Porta Bote owners out there to let them have a look at a great fish finder mounting solution for their Porta Botes or Port-a-Boats. We recently worked with another of our great customers ("Chen" in California) who has a Porta Bote. He purchased our 2.9ah magnetic boat fish finder mount with our 15mm magnetic transducer mount.
This is a fabulous solution for the Porta-Boat, because again, there is no need to drill holes in the boat, or use glues when using this 15mm magnetic transducer mount from Fish Finder Mounts .com; and this is really an extra good thing in this case, because the boat is a fold up flexible plastic boat; so it's absolutely best not to drill holes in a flexible material such as with the Port-a-Boat.
So, instead of doing all the talking ourselves, we'll let Chen put the word out there - thank you Chen!
Here's what he had to say, and the photos he sent are also below:
As promised, here are some pictures of the mount on my porta bote.
The mount worked great. I transom mounted the transducer and went over 12mph with no issue (somehow the sonar pictures goes away when the speed passes 7mph, but i suspect it is a sonar issue). i will try out the side mount this weekend and see how well that works.
The main unit/battery box fits the side really well. i was slightly worried about how well it will hold at first, but then after a while I developed total confidence in the unit--it wasn't going anywhere. you do have to cut out a small piece of black flotation insert so the clamp will fit, but that took less than 10 seconds.
Only problem I had with that unit is that when i was going fast in choppy water, the side of the boat vibrated a lot (since the boat is made of flexible plastic sheets) and the vibration made reading the screen nearly impossible. so for someone that regularly travels in a porta bote in high speed in choppy waters, perhaps one of your float tube mounts might suit them better since those can be strapped directly onto the benches.
all in all, it is a great unit and is something that I have been looking for a long time! Thanks for developing it and best of luck with everything!
Below are Chen's photos he kindly shared with us. He has a Lowrance Elite 4x HDI fishfinder mounted on his Port-a-Boat:

DON'T DRILL HOLES OR USE GLUE WHEN INSTALLING A FISH FINDER TRANSDUCER ON YOUR KAYAK, CANOE, OR ANY OTHER SMALL FISHING BOAT FOR THAT MATTER
September 8th, 2014
The more I look around on the web to see what's out there for mounting or installing a fish finder transducer on a kayak, the more I get excited about the Kayak transducer mounting solution from Fish Finder Mounts .com & Float Tube Fanatics. I think many of you are aware that there are all kinds of people doing all kinds of things, such as: Glueing their transducers to the inside bottom floor area of their kayak for a "through hull" mounting position, Flex and solid brackets that are clamped from the top side of the kayak, extending off and down the side of the kayak - often affixed to some kind of track channel. And there's myriads of different other DIY (do it yourself ) methods kayak fishermen have and do employ today.
I won't going into great detail about what the merits, difficulties, challenges or "issues" might be with each of these approaches; other than to say that if you can get the transducer into the water where it's designed to be, that is clearly the optimal way of getting the best sonar signal. The other thing I would add, is many of the designs out there are arduous and difficult to install, and are certainly often bulky and clumsy looking.
Enter the Magnetic Transducer Mount from Fish Finder Mounts .com and Float Tube Fanatics. Here you have a device that installs within a few seconds, does not require any permanent bonding methods such as glues or rods and screws, and yet is only about 3 inches by an 1 inch and a half in footprint (smaller than a business card ). This Kayak transducer mount weighs less than half a pound, and yet competently installs a transducer on the side of your kayak using paired sets of super magnets acting as an invisible clamp. And then when you are done for the day, easily remove it within a few seconds as when you installed it. This fish finder transducer mount also has a pivoting linkage which allows you to swing the arm up with a twist of a simple thumb knob. This allows the kayak fisherman the ability to tilt it up out of the water when they really want to keep drag to a minimum when they are not fishing but rather moving to a destination at full speed. Oh, and the fasteners used in manufacturing the device are all 316 marine grade stainless steel. It's machined and built here in North America, and it is as tough as nails, to last your fishing career. So it can be said, and has been asserted that there are a plethora of advantages to this kayak transducer mounting solution.
If you want to install a fish finder transducer on a Kayak, this is really quite an awesome solution - and so easy to boot! Here are some great videos showing how this new amazing innovative works, and showing it in action on the water, on a kayak. Enjoy:

Here are few great emails from users of the magnetic transducer mount for kayaks commenting on this amazing kayak transducer mount:
May 31, 2014, from Jeff in Hayward, California:
Finally got out. Had a lot of work and family stuff going on. See the attached for the mount. Works great, you could not have done better except maybe add a "fish bite now" button.
Aug 13, 2013, from Jeffrey in San Diego, California:
Good to hear from you. Yes, the transducer arms works great; sorry I didn’t let you know. I'm hoping to take it out this weekend or next week and will get some pictures. My boat has a weird shape / design to it, so it should be a good example of how well your design can work in different situations.
I'm not sure how you guys market, but I hear a lot of kayak guys that are not happy with their set ups. There is a cool website called Big Waters Edge, which is pretty much a Southern CA kayak fishing site. You might want to check it out.
Aug 14, 2014, from Jim in Harrisburg, PA
I attached some photos. As you will be able to see, I have my kayak all "pimped" out (so my kayak dealer calls it). I have a Wilderness Experience, Pungo12 kayak. It has a removable console where I have mounted my fish finder. I was looking for a way to mount the transducer and then I came across your magnet device. I mounted it on the on the shore so I could take some pictures. I included some pictures of the results too.
Love your device. I only wish I had thought of it.
That's all for now friends - will post again soon :)
